Young students from Saarepeedi, Kalmetu, and Holstre schools visiting

January 17, 2025

Not long ago, we welcomed students from Saarepeedi, Kalmetu, and Holstre Schools (grades 4-6) to our Puidukoda Karksi planing mill as part of their technology education program.

The visit was a chance for them to see the full journey of wood – from forest management to creating sustainable materials and recycling.

The students saw how timber is turned into high-quality planed wood. They learned about responsible forestry and how it helps make wood a sustainable building material. By stepping into the world of woodworking, they linked classroom lessons with real-world experiences.

The visit also introduced them to the many jobs in the woodworking industry. They learned about roles like machine operators, production managers, and sustainability experts. Who knows? Maybe we inspired future wood industry leaders or eco-innovators!

Itโ€™s important to connect young people with industries that care about the environment. Wood is a key material for building a greener future. Teaching kids about responsible forestry and eco-friendly materials helps grow values of environmental care and responsibility.

Weโ€™re proud to share what we do and hope this visit sparked curiosity and fresh ideas about wood, industry, and the environment.
